The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) is now inviting online applications for the One Year Basic Horticulture Training Programme for the 2024-25 academic session. This opportunity is tailored specifically for domicile candidates from the Kashmir Province of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. The program offers specialized training in horticulture, a key field for the region’s economy and culture.

Course Overview and Eligibility Criteria

1. Course Name: One Year Basic Horticulture Training Programme
2. Duration: 1 Year
3. Eligibility Requirements:

  • Minimum Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed matriculation (10th grade) with at least 40% aggregate marks.
  • Age Limit: Candidates must be between 17 and 25 years as of December 31, 2025.
  • Domicile: Only candidates from the Kashmir Province of Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply.

Reservation Policy and Intake Capacity

SKUAST-K follows the reservation policy of the Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory, ensuring fair access to various categories as per the government’s guidelines. Candidates applying under reserved categories must provide valid certificates issued by competent authorities.

Each district has an intake capacity of 10 seats, making a total of 100 seats across the program. Given the limited seats, selection is competitive and will be based on performance in an entrance examination.

Course Fees and Additional Costs

Course Fee: ₹10,000 (excludes transport, hostel, and mess charges).
Application Fee: ₹500 (non-refundable).

Candidates should note that the fees cover the tuition and training aspects of the course, while additional expenses such as transport, hostel accommodations, and meals will be the responsibility of the candidate.

Selection Process
